Using Social Media to Give Something Back

I have not posted in quite some time, but that's over now. I have a great new role as Chief Buzzologist for  @b2bee, a simple, clean accounting and invoicing package for freelancers, solopreneurs, and small consulting businesses. Yes, it's like Freshbooks or Quickbooks, only easier, simpler, and cleaner, for folks that really don't need or want all those bells and whistles. It's a terrific product, one I am proud to support. One big reason is that it travels a professional road I think is really important these days--that of doing well by doing good.

See, while we are in business to serve customers and make money, we also think it's really crucial to give something back to the world as a whole. That's why we donate $.25 of every monthly subscription to funding research into the causes of honeybee colony collapse. Honeybees are critical to the maintenance of our food chain, and they are in substantial distress. Colonies simple disappear without warning or explanation, never to return to their hives. There are lots of theories, but nothing definitive.

Won't you help us? If you're on the fence about you're accounting package, have a look at The Bee. And you too can help the bees!

What causes do you champion with your professional efforts?
